Hiking with Shecky
To live in LA is to hike LA.
Residing in a car city ironically introduced the Great Outdoors to me after living in New York City as an urbanite despite all the greenery and walkability of the other wise Concrete Jungle.
These days, I do a lot of hiking and walking through the hills, canyons and mountain ranges in and around Los Angeles.
I have my half dozen or so regular places I like to hike, but I love being introduced to a new spot. My friend Tina and I brought our dogs — Shecky and Roger — for a walk at this random spot off a busy major road in Glendale. It has that quality I love of nature oasis nestled within urban surroundings.
It was a great path for off leash and I love how handsome our little guys are. I had made the unfortunate choice to squeeze that sweater over Shecky’s head where it just fit, bu discovered when I went to take it off that he was stuck inside of it. He looked adorable though!
