Chesapeake
I didn’t appreciate my home state of Maryland until I spent two weeks quarantining at my parents house in Chesapeake, Maryland.
I have long been resistant to living in Maryland, desiring New York City and Los Angeles, and peppering in stints in London, Costa Rica and Mexico. I still don’t want to live in Maryland, but I love where I am from and discovering the majesty of this mid-atlantic state.
What moved me to take this photo was the complete stillness of the water, and how the horizon blends the water into the sky. It’s a painting with subtle brush strokes and gradients of color.
